DiaClamp® Automated clamping of complex free-form geometries
DiaClamp® is an innovative clamping system for the automated fixation of workpieces with complex 3D free-form surfaces. It was specially developed for applications that require maximum repeat accuracy and process integration, such as the machining of turbine blades or vanes.
The system uses movably mounted, contour-adapted membrane plates (diaphragm discs) that clamp the workpiece form-fit to defined surfaces. The clamping force is distributed evenly and with low tension, minimising deformation and ensuring dimensional accuracy during machining. Positioning is precise and process-reliable, ideal for automated production cells.
DiaClamp® enables the integration of additional process steps such as tactile or optical measuring, marking, engraving or visual inspection directly into the machining cell. This eliminates manual re-clamping processes as well as external testing and handling steps, resulting in a significant reduction in throughput time, set-up effort and sources of error.
